Hopefully you will find everything that you need to find, even though the website is still in progress, If you have any questions or just would like to know more about the Torrevieja Costa Lions, you can email us at torreviejacostalions@yahoo.es. Who are we? Lions club International, to give us our full name, are a group of people who volunteer to work, along with others, in helping those who are less fortunate than ourselves. The movement started almost 100 years ago in the USA, and now has clubs in almost every country of the world. Wherever Lions go they are welcome to visit fellow Lions. There are some Lioness Clubs, and to encourage younger members there are some Leo Clubs. Lion Clubs work to help at several levels: - local, national and International. They do this by raising money via several activities, and each club decides where the money should be spent. All the money raised by the public is used for charity. Lions provide help in the form of schemes such as "The tree of Lights", but are equally at home providing help for individuals in need. Internationally we have a scheme called Sightfirst2 which is designed to help people living all over the world who are blind, and to prevent, where possible, the onset of blindness. Much of this work costs very little per patient, so vast numbers can be helped. |
